The Argus is reporting that the club are interested in signing Boca Juniors striker Jonathan Calleri. The club did make an offer for the striker in August, but no agreement could be made between the two sides.
That decision has not deterred Brighton who recently sent head of recruitment Paul Winstanley over to Argentina to watch the player in action.
However, Brighton would need to smash their current transfer record by around £3 million, as Boca have set an asking price of £6.5 million for the player, but with the new TV money available to Premier League next season, the club will be hoping join England’s elite division next season, and will support boss Chris Hughton in making the dream a reality.
Brighton do face competition for the strikers signature however, with Serie A giants Inter Milan also ready to make a move for the player.
The Brighton fans in The Transfer Tavern are delighted to be linked with the player and are hopeful a January agreement between themselves and Boca will see the player move to the club.
