Inter Milan are prepared to battle Juventus for the signature of Fiorentina star Federico Chiesa after the Italian champions failed to get the signing over the line in the summer, reports Calcio Mercato.
During the recent transfer window, it was reported by the Italian outlet that a deal fell through between Chiesa and Juventus once Fiorentina’s new owners came in; a deal which would have seen the 21-year-old sign on a five-year deal.
However, after Rocco Commisso arrived, negotiations were blocked entirely and now it seems Juventus are prepared to go back in for Chiesa, but, this time, Inter could join the race to sign him.
The reports claim manager Antonio Conte has already made Inter’s first inquiry into the signing and the club have made strategic plans to acquire the youngster at the earliest possibility.
Indeed, it is unsurprising to see Chiesa rated so highly, with the Italian able to play a number of positions in attack and midfield, and last season, the versatile player netted six times and bagged four assists as he helped Fiorentina avoid the drop (as per WhoScored).
Without a doubt, whoever wins the race for Chiesa will be adding a fine player to their squad.
