Cesc Fabregas has offered a verdict on Internazionale’s performance against Barcelona on his personal Twitter account.
When asked about his opinion on the game by a fan, the midfielder replied stating “[Antonio] Conte masterclass so far”.
Inter eventually lost 2-1 due to two goals from Luis Suarez, but the performance has gained plaudits, which is very different to the reaction they received after drawing against Slavia Prague.
Inter gave a gritty performance after going 1-0 up in the second minute before eventually falling behind in the 84th minute, though it is difficult to blame them considering the skill that was involved in each goal.
The length of time Inter spent in a position to get a result came despite Conte’s side only holding 34.5% of the game’s possession, as per WhoScored – a sign of how much pressure they were under was that the only statistic in which they exceeded Barca was tackles made.
It also says a lot that the charts for successful tackles, attempted tackles, interceptions and clearances were all topped by Inter players.
This was a performance that was full of grit, determination and discipline, so while Inter haven’t taken anything from the match in terms of the result, they have come out looking much better than they did following the Slavia Prague draw.
With this performance being added to Inter’s perfect record in the league, things are looking pretty good for Conte’s side.
