Internazionale defender Danilo D’Ambrosio has sustained an injury during Italy’s 2-0 win over Greece, as reported by the club’s official website.
This comes after Alexis Sanchez picked up an ankle injury in Chile’s 0-0 draw in a friendly against Colombia.
This is another blow for Inter, as D’Ambrosio has started 5 Serie A games this season, coming on as a substitute once, as per WhoScored.
The Inter number 33 has scored once in that time, as well as making 1.7 tackles, 0.8 interceptions and 1.3 clearances per game.
In addition, he has completed 86.8% of his attempted passes, as well as averaging 0.7 key passes and 0.8 dribbles – all of this indicates how much of an impact he has made for the club this campaign.
When this is added to the loss of a player who has a goal and assist in his last two Inter games, in Sanchez, this is a definite blow for Antonio Conte’s team.
Inter will likely be feeling very hard-done-by regarding their luck with injuries during the international break, though they will be hoping Sanchez will be able to return soon.
With D’Ambrosio, he will be out for some time, which could see Conte use Antonio Candreva in the right wing-back position during his absence.
