Internazionale bounced back from their loss against Juventus by beating Sassuolo 4-3, thanks to a brace from both Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku.
This inevitably meant that the pair of strikers stole the show and deservedly took a lot of the plaudits for the Nerazzurri’s victory.
However, Marcelo Brozovic also put in a very impressive performance, that will certainly have helped Antonio Conte’s men take the three points.
The most obvious signs of his influence are that he assisted the opening goal of the game, while he also got the third-highest WhoScored rating of any Inter player for the game, behind the striker duo.
He showed quality on the ball outside of this, making 3 key passes, 1 successful dribble and completed 87% of the passes he attempted throughout the match.
The influence the 26-year-old had in building the play can also be seen by the fact that he held 5.3% of the game’s overall possession, which was more than any other Inter midfielder.
While Inter looked fragile in defence at points, it could have been worse if it wasn’t for the Croatian, who made 4 successful tackles, 2 clearances and 1 interception – his number of tackles was the joint-highest of any player on the pitch, alongside Cristiano Biraghi.
Brozovic was an integral part of Inter getting back to winning ways, with his influence being clear in the attacking and defensive phases, so while the strikers take most of the credit, Brozovic deserves a share.
