Internazionale were left frustrated against Parma, as they were held to a 2-2 draw, which saw them fail to capitalise on Juventus’ draw with Lecce.
They may have scored twice, but Antonio Conte would have been looking for more from his players, though he can be impressed with late substitute Matteo Politano’s showing.
The 26-year-old replaced Roberto Gagliardini in the 84th minute, but he still managed to make more of a creative impact than many of his teammates could conjure throughout the game.
During his short period of time on the pitch, he completed two dribbles, with Nicolo Barella being the only Inter man to exceed his total, getting four, as per WhoScored.
The Italian also managed three key passes, which was only beaten by Antonio Candreva’s total of 10, while he also tested the goalkeeper, getting three shots off.
These statistics indicate how much he stepped up once he entered the field of play as the team looked to get the three points.
Politano has only played 260 minutes across Serie A and the Champions League this season, which have come across two starts and eight substitute appearances.
The midfielder may be hoping that his burst of creative energy during this game will sway Conte towards giving him more time on the pitch as the season progresses.
Who will score more goals this season, Romelu Lukaku or Mauro Icardi?
