Internazionale are set to battle it out with AC Milan to sign Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic in the summer of 2020, as reported by Calciomercato.
This has led to his agent offering him to the two Italian sides, with the only potential stumbling block on a deal being Matic’s demands
Matic has made just one substitute appearance for Man United so far this season, coming on for the final 22 minutes of the 1-1 draw against Southampton, as per WhoScored.
The Serbia international won 1 aerial duel, made 1 interception and 30 passes with an overall success rate of 83.3%.
He only played one season under current Inter manager Antonio Conte at Chelsea, during the 2016/17 campaign, in which he started 30 league games, coming on as a substitute five times.
That year saw him get one goal and seven assists, which is his best recorded goal contributions return for a season, while he still averaged 1.5 tackles, 1.4 interceptions and 1.3 clearances per game.
The Serbian midfielder also averaged 0.7 key passes per game, as well as maintaining a pass success rate of 87.7%.
While Matic hasn’t had much of an impact this season, if Conte was able to get him close to the form shown when they last worked together then it would certainly be worth it.
If he is available as a free agent, this should mean the club are able to spend a bit more on his wages to help attract him to play in black and blue.
