In this instalment of our TT Roundup, Football Transfer Tavern have gathered three of the biggest stories to have involved Juventus recently and have provided our thoughts on the reports published.
SARRI WANTS EMERSON PALMIERI REUNION
According to reports from Ilbianconero (via Sports Mole), Maurizio Sarri is keen on a reunion with Emerson Palmieri.
The Italian international has been in fine form this season, despite a recent injury. Lampard has favoured the left-back to Marcos Alonso.
The Express say that Chelsea want to hand the 25-year-old a new five-year contract, with the club’s transfer ban being a key catalyst in that decision.
With Alex Sandro being the club’s only established left-back (Transfermarkt), there is no doubt that Sarri will identify this as a position which could do with strengthening.
However, with Emerson now being favoured at Chelsea and the club being in the middle of a transfer ban, it’s surely unlikely they will let him go on the cheap. Emerson is the first choice at Stamford Bridge at the moment and would have to compete with Alex Sandro if he was to leave, so he might fancy continuing his development at Chelsea.
DYBALA SCOOPS UP AWARD
The Juventus club website has announced that forward Paulo Dybala has scooped up the club’s first MVP of the season.
Fans vote on Juventus.com after each game for their player of the match – and it seems the Argentinian attacker was the player that caught the fans’ eye more than anyone else.
You can’t really argue with the fans of the club for their vote, so it’s an award well-deserved for Dybala.
Juventus fans might well be very happy that Dybala didn’t depart the club in the summer, as he has been a really influential player so far this season – even if he isn’t a guaranteed starter.
From his five games so far, he has the second-highest average rating for any player that has played more than one game, with a score of 7.22/10.
ERIKSEN TO TURIN?
While the last story alluded to how Juventus fans might be glad that Dybala didn’t depart – if this rumour came off then it would surely be pushing Dybala further away from the first-team.
According to reports from Ilbianconero (via Sports Mole), Sarri is wanting the creative midfielder to join the ranks at the Allianz Stadium. The report goes onto state that Juve could pounce at the end of the season when he becomes available on a free.
Considering this, it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see them go after such a talented player. With that in mind, with Dybala currently struggling for game time, it could signal the end for him at the club – especially considering they tried to sell him in the summer.
