Leeds’ Ronaldo Vieira set to undergo medical with Sampdoria

Leeds United have started to enjoy themselves in the transfer window this summer after a frustrating time, however, they may be about to lose one of their best players.

Marcelo Bielsa has finally managed to find a breakthrough when it comes to bringing players to Elland Road on a permanent deal, with Barry Douglas having joined from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Patrick Bamford thought to be on closing in on a switch from Middlesbrough.

The Whites have already added the Chelsea duo of Lewis Baker and Jamal Blackman on season-long loan deals, whilst Manchester City’s Jack Harrison is also thought to be edging closer to a temporary deal.

However, according to reports in Italy, Leeds could be about to lose one of their most promising players this summer as he is set to fly to the country in the coming days.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Ronaldo Vieira is expected to undergo a medical on Tuesday ahead of a proposed deal with Sampdoria, worth around 7million euros.

The Verdict:

Vieira is a fan favourite at Elland Road and is thought to be a crucial member of the first-team, despite his young age.

The 20-year-old, who has been capped by England at the Under-21 level, has played over 70 matches for the Yorkshire outfit since he joined in 2015 and is highly rated.

However, with a fee of 7m euros thought to be on the table, Leeds deem it too good to turn down, although there is a belief that the club should be getting a lot more for him.
