Leeds United hit with major blow in their attempts to complete defender transfer

The Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern are quite downbeat at the moment.

They are disappointed that their side failed to reach the play-offs despite being situated in the top six from November until the last few games of the season.

The Leeds fans are also disappointed that Garry Monk has decided to resign from his role as manager of the Championship club.

And now they have been hit with another piece of bad news.

According to a reliable journalist, Giuseppe Bellusci might not be leaving the club in the summer despite widespread reports that he would.

According to Phil Hay of The Yorkshire Evening Post, Giuseppe Bellusci may not complete a permanent move to Empoli after they were relegated from Serie A.

There was a clause in the 27-year-old’s contract which would allow Empoli to sign Bellusci permanently at the end of his loan spell but there are concerns over whether they can afford him now that they have dropped out of the Italian top tier.

The controversial Italian defender was an unpopular figure at Leeds and there was an almighty groan from the Leeds fans’ booth in the Transfer Tavern when this news was announced.

Leeds fans – how disappointed are you after hearing this Bellusci news? Let us know your thoughts below…
