# Tottenham: Sevilla chief makes contact for Lucas Moura

**A report from Spain has shared the latest on [Tottenham Hotspur](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/) winger Lucas Moura and his possible mooted exit from the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) giants.**

### The Lowdown: Lucas Moura’s deal expiring…

The Brazilian’s current Spurs deal [expires in 2023,](https://www.teamtalk.com/tottenham-hotspur/transfer-news-real-chance-lucas-moura-marginalised-by-kulusevski-richarlison-could-leave-january) and while the club have the option of a [one-year extension](https://www.teamtalk.com/tottenham-hotspur/transfer-news-real-chance-lucas-moura-marginalised-by-kulusevski-richarlison-could-leave-january), reports [suggest](https://www.vamosmisevillafc.com/lucas-moura-se-ofrece-para-jugar-en-el-sevilla/) that he could well be on the move after nearly half a decade in north London.

Signing from Paris-Saint Germain in January 2018, Lucas has gone on to make [more than 200 appearances for Spurs](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lucas-moura/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/77100) in all competitions whilst forever cementing his status into club folklore.

His [2019 heroics](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/9034478/lucas-moura-hattrick-spurs-ajax-champions-league-pochettino-praise/) in the Champions League semi-finals against Ajax prompted then-Lilywhites boss Mauricio Pochettino to call the winger a ‘[superhero’,](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/9034478/lucas-moura-hattrick-spurs-ajax-champions-league-pochettino-praise/) and whatever happens, supporters will always have that fond hat-trick memory.

### The Latest: Sevilla chief makes contact…

According to reports from Spain, it appears that Sevilla chief Monchi has made an approach to sign the 30-year-old.

[Vamos Mi Sevilla](https://www.vamosmisevillafc.com/lucas-moura-se-ofrece-para-jugar-en-el-sevilla/) claim that the La Liga official has ‘already contacted’ Tottenham as he looks to sign Lucas on a temporary deal for the second half of this season.

This comes as the Tottenham forward opens the door to a potential transfer, hinting that he is open to the possibility of joining Sevilla in an interview.

He stated: “I didn’t know about Sevilla’s interest, but it’s a club that I like and a city that they speak very highly of. Playing in LaLiga would be something fantastic for me, because I like it a lot.”

### The Verdict: Let him go?

A loan spell in Spain is arguably what Lucas needs in order to recapture some fitness and rediscover his best form.

Struggling with [injuries](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lucas-moura/verletzungen/spieler/77100) and a subsequent [lack of game-time](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lucas-moura/leistungsdaten/spieler/77100) recently, it seems like a hard and long road into Antonio Conte’s starting XI, and a loan move to Sevilla may be the best thing for all concerned.
