# Sheffield United: Aaron Ramsdale price tag set by Bournemouth

**Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has been given a price for goalkeeper target Aaron Ramsdale, with a [£15m](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/12250198/ramsdale-henderson-sheffield-united-bournemouth-transfer/) transfer valuation being reported for the Bournemouth man.**

Finishing ninth in the Premier League table has handed Blades boss Wilder the perfect chance to build on his side’s success and the transfer window could act as a useful tool to strive for a higher finish next term.

One particular area on which Wilder will need to focus as a matter of urgency this summer is between the sticks, with last season’s number one [Dean Henderson having returned to parent club Manchester United.](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-transfer-rumours/manchester-united-red-devils-hold-talks-with-dean-henderson-amid-interest-from-chelsea-and-spurs/)

Interest in Ramsdale has emerged, with [The Sun](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/12250198/ramsdale-henderson-sheffield-united-bournemouth-transfer/) claiming that the Cherries ‘keeper is wanted back at Bramall Lane, where he [began his professional career](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsdale/transfers/spieler/427568) and made [two appearances under Wilder](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsdale/leistungsdatentrainer/spieler/427568/plus/0/saison/2016/verein/350/trainer_id/15289) back in late 2016.

Sheffield United’s interest in Ramsdale has lasted for some time, with [The Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1314056/Bournemouth-transfer-news-callum-wilson-ramsdale-nathan-ake-eddie-howe) recently claiming that a transfer fee of £22m would convince Bournemouth to sell the 22-year-old this summer.

That figure has now been countered by a [latest report](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/12250198/ramsdale-henderson-sheffield-united-bournemouth-transfer/) which claimed that the Cherries’ relegation to the Championship will leave them with financial problems, thus potentially prompting the sale of players for less than the asking prices which were previously reported.

Ramsdale impressed for Bournemouth last season despite their relegation, making [37 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsdale/profil/spieler/427568) in which he managed to keep [five clean sheets](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsdale/profil/spieler/427568) and pulling off [129 saves, the third-most](https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/saves) in the Premier League.

Ramsdale would seem to be a dependable replacement for Henderson and, at the age of just 22, is still in the early stage of his career.

The England under-21 international was pretty helpless at times last season for a Bournemouth team with the [third-worst defensive record in the top flight](https://www.premierleague.com/tables), but seemingly his reputation has not weakened and a return to the Premier League with Sheffield United could be on the cards if he is reluctant to drop down a division next term.
