# Sheffield United: Billy Sharp announces plans on Instagram to open football academy

**Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp clearly has his future plans in mind as he has added an Instagram post detailing a new football academy that he will be opening.**

His latest plans should definitely put a smile on Blades supporters faces as his [Instagram post](https://www.instagram.com/p/CBk391Wlmpr/) showed a blooper reel of him repeatedly botching his announcement of the opening of the ‘Billy Sharp Football Academy’, which will be in operation soon.

The 34-year-old has seen it all with the Blades as he has [played with them](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/billy-sharp/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/49542/verein/350) in League One, the Championship and now in the Premier League, in which he is part of a team doing the unthinkable as they are [battling for a Europa League spot.](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/table)

Sharp has a fine scoring record in his 263 games for the club, bagging 106 goals whilst also registering 33 assists, per [Transfermarkt,](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/billy-sharp/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/49542/verein/350) and in their recent [friendlies](https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-united-hull-barnsley-friendlies-18389660) to get the players prepared for the return of the Premier League, he has been among the goals.

The academy will be running one-to-one and small coaching groups and there is no doubt that many will be signing up as soon as they can, given the striker’s [legend status at Sheffield United](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k30GwcfHUnI).
