Sheffield United have recently lost out on a couple of transfer targets like Matty Cash and Antonee Robinson. However this hasn’t unsettled them and the latest news highlights that they had other transfer targets as the club have welcomed three new players to Bramall Lane.
The Blades announced three signings on Monday as Jayden Bogle, Max Lowe and Ethan Ampadu all arrived at the club. Ampadu joins from fellow Premier League side Chelsea on a season-long loan, whilst Bogle and Lowe both have signed on long-term deals from Championship side Derby County.
The news announcing the trio should have supporters of the club very confident ahead of next season as it has given them some much-need squad depth for the 2020/21 campaign.
Lowe and Bogle will give Enda Stevens and George Baldock some good competition in the full-back positions and with the Premier League scrapping the winter break to try and make the fixture list less congested, Wilder will be happy that if one of his wing-backs are lacking in fitness, he has players to bring in if needed.
Meanwhile Ampadu on loan works well for both Chelsea and the Blades as he is only 19, but many believe he has great potential and therefore he can get some vital experience at Sheffield United. Even if he doesn’t start every game, he will probably still get more minutes at the Blades than he will at the Blues currently. Wilder will also be happy with this signing as the Welsh international can play as a centre-back as well as a defensive midfielder and it is always good to have such a versatile player in a squad.
It will excite many associated with the club that these signings have been made and the squad definitely looks healthier before the start of the new season this weekend.
