Sheffield United: Fans react as Chris Wilder discusses Lys Mousset’s future

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding Sheffield United striker Lys Mousset and his future at Bramall Lane and many of the Blades fan base are reacting to manager Chris Wilder’s latest comments on the situation.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Wilder has become very frustrated with Mousset’s fitness issues, according to Examiner Live, and due to this, the club were considering selling the Frenchman in the summer. Indeed he was completely left out of the squad for the Everton game and when asked why this was, the Blades boss simply refused to comment.
However, Wilder’s latest comments seem to indicate that the ex-Bournemouth man still has a future at Bramall Lane as he said: “It’s been a tough time for the young foreign boys because of lockdown, being on their own. Lys has had a few knocks and niggles, and his girlfriend just gave birth to their first child. I made that decision to allow Lys to go home.”
Mousset, who cost the club £10m last summer, has the joint-most goals in the Premier League in the Blades’ squad, as well as the joint-most assists (per WhoScored), so he has certainly been a great attacking threat for the club since signing from the Cherries last summer.
So this news from Wilder, which seems to suggest he is not frustrated at the moment and instead personal reasons are keeping the striker out, should be a positive for supporters. Many have been happy to hear these comments, here is what some had to say…

Why didn’t he just say that after the Everton game then instead of saying no comment? Seems bizarre to me 🤷♂️

That’s the ‘Get rid’ bandwagon a right-off then lol bet they feel silly now. All Mousset needs is to be more focused & we have a top quality premier league striker on our hands
11 starts 10 goal involvements
