With Sheffield United yet to win since the Premier League returned, they will be hopeful that they can have a fully fit squad for their next fixture against Tottenham tomorrow, and Chris Wilder has provided an injury update on Jack O’Connell.
The Blades manager has suggested that that O’Connell could return to some form of training after missing all four games since football returned a fortnight ago, via journalist James Shield.
Speaking in his press conference in the build-up to their upcoming fixture against Tottenham, Wilder said: “We are hoping he (O’Connell) is back on the grass today and we will assess him accordingly. Off the back of that, if he’s fit and he’ll be in the squad and involved.”
It was a big blow for the Blades when O’Connell got injured as he had played every game of the Premier League season prior to lockdown and this highlights that he has been vital to the side reaching the top seven in the table before his injury.
Sheffield United have not won and have dropped to ninth in his absence, with eight goals conceded in the four games he missed in June. Therefore, his possibly return for the Spurs clash would be a huge boost and not just for supporters of the Blades but also for the squad.
