It seems like Sheffield United are looking to strengthen their options up front, as there are recent transfer reports linking them with a forward playing in the Belgian top flight.
According to an exclusive report from Walfoot, the Blades are monitoring striker Emmanuel Dennis and are keen to acquire his services.
However, they will likely need to battle hard to land his signature, given the competition that they face for him. Serie A side Atalanta, Champions League quarter-finalists this year, are thought to be very keen on the striker as well, with the Nigerian valued in the region of €15m-€20m (£13.5m-£18m).
The 22 year-old currently plays his football for Club Brugge, who are the reigning Belgian champions. This shows that Dennis is playing at a good level, and he has 28 goals and 10 assists in 104 appearances for the club, per Transfermarkt, which include games in the Champions League.
With an average of more than one goal contribution per three matches, Dennis is a potent presence in the attacking area of the pitch; and if Chris Wilder is interested in signing him, it looks like Dennis could be a future replacement for Billy Sharp at Sheffield United.
Dennis is the same height as Sharp at 1.75m, which could show that the Blades want a similar type of player to the 34-year-old Bramall Lane veteran. With the Englishman approaching the end of his career, Wilder may soon need to find someone to fill his boots.
The Nigerian seems like a good option for this due to his age and his eye for goal. This, combined with his experience in Europe, highlights that Sheffield United could have a very decent prospect on their hands; and if they can sign him before Sharp retires, then the veteran could give Dennis an abundance of experience to help him adapt to English football.
