It seems that Sheffield United are already planning their transfer targets and are on the hunt for a defensive midfielder, as they have been linked to IFK Göteborg’s Alhassan Yusuf.
Would the 19 year-old be a good signing?
Wolves have apparently made a bid of around £6.3 million, whilst Sheffield United currently are only ready to bid half that price, but it will be interesting to see if this changes when the transfer window opens.
Yusuf fits the current criteria that the Blades seem to be looking to acquire at the moment, namely a player with large potential. Chris Wilder clearly rates the current starting XI he has mainly used this season, with nine players clocking more than 2,000 minutes of game-time, and he is justified in doing so as the Blades lie seventh in the Premier League.
Yusuf has already made 31 appearances for his club this season, scoring two goals and providing five assists, per Transfermarkt.
With it being reported that loanee Mohammed Besic has not extended his loan, meaning he has returned to Everton, the Blades will need a central midfielder as they have now lost some depth in that position, and Yusuf could be the ideal signing to improve their numbers and potentially become a vital player for the club in the future.
Blades fans, do you think Yusuf could be an ideal squad replacement for Besic? Comment below with your views!
