It seems like Sheffield United still want to bolster their midfield despite the signing of Sander Berge in January, as they are linked with Glasgow Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.
According to 90min, the Blades aren’t the only club interested in the player as Dynamo Kiev and Dinamo Moscow are readying £10 million bids. Meanwhile fellow Premier League sides Crystal Palace, Everton, Newcastle and Southampton as well as Championship clubs Brentford and Norwich are keeping tabs on the player like the Blades.
Kamara, who came from Arsenal’s academy, has played 58 times for Glasgow Rangers since he signed, scoring two and assisting three, per Transfermarkt.
He is a consistent starter and performances like his most recent one in the 3-0 Premiership victory over St. Johnstone highlight the quality he has as he picked up a 7.3 rating, per SofaScore. He made one key pass, won two ground duels, completed all nine of his attempted long balls, and managed to complete 97% of his passes successfully.
This shows the quality the 24 year-old possesses, and he could potentially be a good signing for the Blades. However with this recent speculation, it could mean that the Blades are looking to sign him due to the fact that John Lundstram may depart.
The midfielder was key for the Blades last season as he managed to play in 34 Premier League matches for the club, picking up five goals and three assists, per WhoScored. With talks over a new contract for the Englishman stalling as terms are struggling to be agreed, there are reports he could leave this summer as he only has one year left on his contract.
If he were to leave, then Karama seems like an ideal replacement, so Wilder will be hoping that he can beat other teams to the players signature if they make a bid in the transfer window.
