Dean Henderson won’t be able to play in Sheffield United’s fixture against Manchester United on Wednesday as the Red Devils are his parent club.
However, Chris Wilder has given very positive news on whether the goalkeeper can stay at Bramall Lane until the end of the season.
Speaking about the goalkeeper, Wilder basically confirmed that the Englishman was able to stay until the end of the campaign, which is due to finish much later because of recent events.
Speaking to the Yorkshire Post, the Blades manager said: “The loan is just at discussion level at an administration level. I’ve had a chat with the manager (Solskjaer) and he was fine with Dean extending his loan for the rest of the season and I appreciate Ole’s help on that one.”
The deal works out for both parties as Sheffield United get to keep their man in between the sticks who has the joint most clean sheets in the league. This highlights how important he has been in making sure the Blades have been nowhere near a relegation battle this season, instead helping them to surge into the race for European football, via BBC Sport.
Meanwhile for Manchester United, they get to see their young player receive yet more minutes in the top flight, something he would not have got at Old Trafford due to the continued presence of Spanish stopper David De Gea.
This experience is vital into turning him into a top goalkeeper and will certainly benefit him if and when he eventually becomes the number one at Manchester United.
Blades fans, how happy are you that Henderson is able to finish off the season? Comment below!
