Sheffield United: Chris Wilder wants to sign four more players in this transfer window

Sheffield United: Chris Wilder wants to sign four more players in this transfer window - Premier League

Sheffield United showed a sign of their intent for next season as they signed goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale for around £18.5 million to bolster their squad for next season, and it looks like that will not be the only addition following Chris Wilder’s latest comments.

Speaking via YorkshireLive on transfers, Wilder said: “It’s an important area that we need to strengthen (forward line), it’s a key area and we are certainly looking at that department.

“We are not a club that can release names, we are working away on bringing targets in to make us better. There’s a couple of players that we are interested in from the loan market who are with their parent clubs at the minute, which is understandable because it’s a different pre-season to what we have experienced and not many teams have been back for long.

“Hopefully, we can get an answer on them and they can come in on loan because that’s the market we want to use.

“We are still working away on deals. Possibly four players coming in, but until they have that pen in their hand I can’t give you much more.”

Supporters of the Blades should now be excited for the rest of the transfer window, which will end in October, following Wilder saying that four new players could possibly be coming in.

There has been a fair bit of transfer speculation around Sheffield United so there could be a few players that Wilder is talking about.

question mark

What is Chris Wilder's win percentage as Sheffield United manager?

One is Nottingham Forest defender Matty Cash, the right-back is only 22, and has shown a lot of potential in the Championship last season as he scored three goals, picked up five assists and kept 14 clean sheets in the division. These performances saw him nominated for their Player of the Season award.

Meanwhile an exciting prospect by the name of Rhian Brewster has also been linked, with the Blades currently in negotiations with Liverpool over a possible loan deal for the former U17 World Cup winner.

Another striker mentioned is Emmanuel Dennis who currently plays for Club Brugge. The 22 year-old has an abundance of experience in Belgium and also in the UEFA Champions League where he has four goals in 15 appearances, per Transfermarkt.

These would be some very good additions to bring to the squad and would tick a few boxes as it would give them some more depth upfront and in defence and if Wilder was able to pull these signings off, then it would be a very good transfer window for the Blades.
