Despite sustaining an earlier knock at the end of the first half, an update has emerged regarding the 32-year-old’s situation, and it’s a positive one for the Hillsborough faithful.

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/domhowson/status/1586422455110877192?s=46&t=kS6ApVpzinWd837WjuviCg), Howson revealed that Bannan was simply substituted as a precautionary measure at the weekend and insisted that the 32-year-old will be fit to take on Derek Adams’ side later this week.

Asked by a Wednesday supporter for any further news on the Scotland international’s fitness, the journalist responded: “Was just a precaution. Will be fine for Morecambe.”
