# Sheffield Wednesday: Fans react as Isaiah Brown signs on loan

**Sheffield Wednesday are showing their intent to have a good campaign next season as they have have [announced](https://twitter.com/swfc/status/1296501053735739393?s=20) their third signing of the transfer window.**

The Owls [tweeted](https://twitter.com/swfc/status/1296501053735739393?s=20) out that [23 year-old](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/127119/Show/Isaiah-Brown) midfielder Isaiah Brown has signed for the club on loan for the 2020/21 campaign from Premier League side Chelsea.

The player has had [various spells](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/izzy-brown/profil/spieler/245805) on loan in the Championship, including at Huddersfield and more recently Luton Town where he played last season. At the Hatters, he clearly did a fair bit to help the club [stay in the division](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/table) as he managed one goal and seven assists in 25 appearances, whilst also managing 2.1 key passes a game and 2 successful dribbles per game, via [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/127119/Show/Isaiah-Brown).

If Monk felt like he was lacking creativity then he definitely shouldn’t now as Brown’s key passes would rank him second in the Wednesday [squad](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/25/Show/England-Sheffield-Wednesday), 0.1 behind Barry Bannan.

Before the Chelsea player signed on loan, the next [Owls player](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/25/Show/England-Sheffield-Wednesday) after Bannan with the most key passes was Fernando Forestieri with 1.2 and he has now left. Therefore the Owls have been quick to identify a weakness in their squad and try and find a solution to it.

Here is what fans said following the news:

> Only has 1 year on his contract so surprised we got him on loan, hopefully he can come on a free next season if we stay up/if he doesn’t outgrow us.

> If he can stay fit could be quality. Had some bad injuries though that have kept him out for a hell of a lot of time.
