Former Sheffield Wednesday player Carlton Palmer believes that Lewis Wing wanting to stay with the Owls is testament to manager Darren Moore, the team and the fans.

The Owls have started the new League One season in good form, picking up ten points from a possible 15 and currently sit second in the league table two points behind leaders Sunderland.

After an opening day draw to Charlton Athletic, Sheffield Wednesday put together a run of four straight victories and hadn’t conceded a goal until last weekend’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of League One newcomers Morecambe.

The Owls bounced back from defeat with a 3-0 win in the EFL Trophy against Newcastle United U21 in the week and after a summer which saw fourteen new players arrive at Hillsborough, everyone will be pleased with the start to the season.

One new player who has been impressed since joining on loan is Lewis Wing as he told Yorkshire Live: “Sheffield Wednesday is a massive club. I am really enjoying it here. The club is looking to go back up and in the right direction so I think it (permanent transfer) could be a big possibility.”

Former Owl Palmer believes Wing saying that is testament to not only Moore, but the team and the fans as well, telling Transfer Tavern: “Of course, I mean Darren Moore like I’ve said to you before I’ve got a lot of time for Darren, I think he’s a very, very good manager, he’s a very good man manager.

"So, it’s testament to Darren, but also testament to the team and the supporters down at Sheffield Wednesday, that gets everybody going and everybody wants to be part of a winning team.”

After a good start to life in League One, Sheffield Wednesday will be hoping to maintain their good run of form and ensure that they are in the promotion picture come the end of the season.
