Sheffield Wednesday don't need to sign another winger in the summer transfer window, according to reliable journalist Dom Howson.

The Lowdown: Busy summer at Hillsborough

The Owls have enjoyed a hugely productive time of things this summer, bringing in 13 new faces to help strengthen their League One promotion push.

It seems to have had the desired effect, with Wednesday currently top of the table, picking up 10 points from their opening four matches without conceding a goal.

The Latest: Howson gives key verdict

While more new signings could potentially come in before Tuesday's transfer cutoff, Howson claims another wide man isn't needed, in a Q&A for Yorkshire Live:

"I personally don’t think Wednesday need to sign another winger. I know they are a man down in that position following Green’s exit but they have still got loads of options out wide.
"We have not seen Corbeanu play yet but he can operate on either flank. So can Sylla. You’ve got Paterson and Adeniran who can also play on the right. There is Johnson and Brown on the left. And Shodipo and Windass are still to come back from injury."

The Verdict: No more wingers needed

Any new signing can feel like a bonus, but the Owls now feel well-stocked in wide areas, with Olamide Shodipo, Marvin Johnson and Theo Corbeanu all added to the current options in the squad.

Andre Green may have moved on to pastures new, but there are more than enough choices for Darren Moore and he may not want a case of too many cooks spoiling the broth.

Wednesday's squad appears to be as strong as it has been for years in terms of depth and their promotion hopes look healthy early on.
