Many Sheffield Wednesday fans are not happy with defender Tom Lees following his performance against Coventry City in the Championship.

His statistics in the Championship this season have been decent as he has managed 1 tackle and 1.6 interceptions and 6.2 clearances per game (WhoScored).

However, the Owls are still in the bottom three and were without a win in their last seven before this fixture (SofaScore). Therefore, the defence is going to come under a lot of criticism and clearly many fans were frustrated despite the positive result on Saturday, with one calling him 'woeful'.

With the January transfer window fast approaching, and Lees now 30, performances in which he is getting slated like during this match against Coventry will possibly see manager Tony Pulis look to bring in some better options - if the funds are even there that is. Lees will have to put in some big performances to prove that he deserves a future at the club.

The only positive he may take at the moment is despite the fans' criticism, he has a great defensive manager in Pulis who can help him improve.
