Many Sheffield Wednesday fans are reacting to Dom Howson’s latest comments about Neil Thompson’s chances of becoming manager.
Following the surprise sacking of Tony Pulis, the journalist was doing a question and answer session. He was asked to discuss Neil Thompson. The first-team coach has been placed in charge of first-team affairs by owner Dejphon Chansiri until a permanent appointment is made.
When asked if could be the coach could possibly takeover Pulis’ role, Howson said: “No, I think the club are looking in a different direction.”
Whoever comes in will not likely not feel completely safe as the Owls are only 21 games into the season and they have already had two managers. The club are in a horrible situation as they sit in the relegation zone of the Championship (SofaScore). However they are only a few points from safety as things stand and therefore, the next appointment is crucial for the Owls if they want to stay in the division. It is probably best that the club look for more experienced candidates over Neil Thompson due to their situation.
Here is what Sheffield Wednesday fans said following Dom Howson’s comments:
“God I hope not.”
“Morais never stays long anywhere and on his cv is that he relegated Barnsley. Only a madman would appoint him. Doh!! Thompson- no thoughts on this but we need someone to spot what we need in the window.”
