Sheffield Wednesday: Fans react as Dominic Iorfa wins Player of the Year award at the club

Sheffield Wednesday announced that defender Dominic Iorfa was voted by fans as the Player of the Year at the club and many Owls supporters are reacting to this news.
The 25 year-old joined from Wolves in January 2019, and he clearly has impressed as he has picked up the accolade in his first full season at the club.
This season, the centre-back has made 41 appearances in the Championship, picking up two goals and two assists as well as keeping ten clean sheets per Transfermarkt.
If you look at some of his other stats it shows how solid he has been at the back as he has made on average 3.7 clearances, 2.2 tackles and 1.3 interceptions a game, per WhoScored.
This shows how crucial he has been for the Owls as he is great at breaking up opposition attacks and without him in the side, the club could have easily finished lower in the league than they did with him.
The award is one which supporters vote for and therefore the player should feel very happy that the fan base are loving what he is doing on the pitch for them and it should give him a great morale boost for next campaign.
Here is what fans have said following the news, with one labelling Iorfa as the ‘stand out’ player for the Owls…
