With the Championship season coming to a close and Sheffield Wednesday sitting in 16th, plans could already be underway as to how Garry Monk can improve his squad for next term.
One player at the club whose future will need to be decided sooner rather than later is Atdhe Nuhiu, as his contract is due to expire when the season ends, and Yorkshire Live reporter Dom Howson has given his opinion on the player. Howson posted his article on Twitter about what to do with the 30-year-old, and said ‘Atdhe Nuhiu has been a good servant for #SWFC but it is time to move on’

This has prompted a lot of debate among many Sheffield Wednesday fans, with some agreeing and some disagreeing with the journalist.
The Kosovo forward has featured 276 times for the Owls in all competitions and scored 50 goals whilst registering 27 assists, per Transfermarkt. This highlights how good a servant the striker has been for the club, although it seems that not all of the Hillsborough faithful are desperate for him to stay.
Should Nuhiu be sold in the summer?
Here is what these Sheffield Wednesday fans said following the tweet from Howson:
Dom are you mad? The guy scored two goals at the weekend and two days later you’re saying he should be released.

I get the sentiment of fans who want him to stay but it is time to move on. He gives his all but if fans are being honest with themselves, has he ever really been good enough?

Needs keeping as an option from the bench when we’re chasing games. Offers a dynamic we’ll struggle to fill and unplayable for defenders. Clearly not a 90 minute box to box striker but a target man. Need to strengthen with a starting striker. Can’t afford to have to buy subs.

Imo. He’s never a starter as he’s a 20min man. But, he been the best 20min we’ve had for a long time in terms of influencing a game when he comes on as a sub for the last 20mins. I’d keep him just for that option nothing else.

I could not disagree more. He goes and we are left with Rhodes. Good luck getting 3/4 strikers in during the next 8 weeks or so who are all better than Atdhe. A must keep for me.

Couldn’t disagree more, even best sides need a “plan b” from the bench, watched Brentford throw their automatic promotion opportunity away on Saturday because they had no plan b to get a late goal at Stoke. Used correctly nuhiu is a good asset to squad
