Sheffield Wednesday: Fans react to footage of Jordan Rhodes’ goal

Sheffield Wednesday started their 2020/21 Championship campaign exactly how they would have wanted as they beat Cardiff City 2-0.
Not only was this a good result due to the fact that it means they have already knocked three points off their minus twelve tally that they started the season with, but also because Cardiff finished in the Play-Offs last season, so the Owls beat some very good opposition.
The club tweeted out a video of one of the goals scored by striker Jordan Rhodes, and this will be a huge positive for all associated with the club as the Englishman only managed three goals in the division last season, so for him to get off the mark in the first game could be a sign that he is going to perform much better than last term.
Although they still sit bottom of the division, the result will please Garry Monk massively and show all in the league that they are not going to be easy opposition to face this season.
Here is what fans said following the tweet, with one suggesting his movement in the box is “unrivalled” in the Championship…

You can never take away Rhodes movement in box, predator.
That yard of pace hes lost has really impacted him outside the box which is why he quite poor for us but his movement in box is unrivaled in this league.

Not sure I’ve seen him work harder than yesterday, really good all round performance from him and awesome to see him get a goal.

Keeper makes an hash of it tbf, but the grief I’ve gotten for defending/supporting Rhodes makes yesterday one of them days you love to see, hopefully monk leaves him in the starting 11 and gets his confidence up
