Many Sheffield Wednesday fans have been left to slam the display of Elias Kachunga in their 3-0 away loss to Brentford on Wednesday evening.
The Bees ran out very comfortable winners in the EFL Championship thanks to goals from Bryan Mbuemo, Saman Ghoddos and Mads Bech Sorensen as the Owls really struggled to grab any kind of foothold in the game.
While there were a lot of performances in a SWFC shirt that were rather disappointing, Kachunga in particular flattered to deceive.
Should Sheffield Wednesday start Kachunga?
The former Huddersfield Town man lost out on eight of his duels and also failed to record a single shot, successful dribble or key pass in the match, losing possession of the ball nine times (Sofascore).
The striker was fairly anonymous all game, having fewer touches overall than his own goalkeeper in Joe Wildsmith, as he earned a quite measly 6.4 overall rating on Sofascore, the joint-fourth lowest out of any player to have started the clash.
Sheffield Wednesday fan reaction to Kachunga display
These Wednesday supporters slammed his performance on Twitter, with one fan even going as far as to call the 28-year-old a ‘waste of a shirt’:
“Have you ever seen a more ineffective player than Kachunga? May as well have a cardboard cut-out of him on there”
“Kachunga is one of the worst footballers I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen Izzy Brown play. #swfc”
“Kachunga only looked interested in coming off. Fastest he’s moved. #SWFC”
“Chansiri, Thompson, Bullen, Penney, Kachunga, Pelupessy, Windass PLEASE LEAVE”
“Has Kachunga won a competition to play for us? He is one of the worst players I have ever seen #swfc”
