Influential Sheffield Wednesday pair Josh Windass and Lee Gregory are both available for this weekend’s League One clash away to Exeter City.
The Lowdown: Owls back in action
Darren Moore’s side picked up a respectable 0-0 draw in their last outing at Derby County last weekend, as their promotion push continues to look strong.
Wednesday face another away clash on Saturday afternoon, as they make the trip to an Exeter side sitting 11th in the table, meaning the visitors will be favourites to prevail.
Windass and Gregory played no part in the Derby game but a positive update has emerged regarding their fitness.
The Latest: Key duo passed fit
Taking to Twitter, Alex Miller confirmed that the pair are in contention to feature this weekend, having overcome respective issues:
“On the bright side, Josh Windass and Lee Gregory are ready to go.”
The Verdict: Massive boost for Wednesday
This is a huge boost for the Owls, with Windass and Gregory two of their side’s biggest match-winners, scoring eight league goals between them so far this season.
Whether or not they are deemed match fit enough to come straight into the starting lineup remains to be seen, however, with Alex Mighten and Michael Smith possibly preferred after starting against Derby.
Both Windass and Gregory could be great impact substitutes to bring on at Exeter, providing quality when legs are tiring and a goal is potentially needed.
