Sheffield Wednesday got a win against high-flying AFC Bournemouth this week and the mood around the club has got even better following the news surrounding their appeal.
The Owls tweeted out that League Arbitration Panel has come to a decision on their appeal. The 12 points deduction they had has been reduced to six points for the 2020/21 campaign.
This is great news and despite the Owls still being bottom of the league, they have now come out of minus points and are on five points. They are now also only three points from safety and breathing down the necks of struggling Derby County.
Garry Monk will now feel like the club can push on for mid table or even better this season, and he now has no excuse to not get the Owls in a much better position.
With the games coming thick and first, the Owls could be out of the bottom three by the end of the week if they pick up the three points against Millwall.
