Sheffield Wednesday: Fans discuss Michael Hector following play-off final - Sheffield Wednesday News

Many Sheffield Wednesday fans have been discussing former Owls defender Michael Hector following his success with Fulham as the club were promoted to the Premier League via the play-offs.

The 28-year-old centre-back played for the Owls in the 2018/19 season, making 39 appearances, scoring twice and managing to keep 12 clean sheets, per Transfermarkt.

Wednesday did not sign him on a permanent deal after his loan expired and Fulham picked him up for £5.31m. Many Owls fans are happy for the centre-back, with some understandably wishing that the now-Premier League player joined Hillsborough permanently, whilst others hope that he continues to do well at Craven Cottage.

One called him “an absolute colossus” whilst another said that he “carried the team last season”, and the fact that so many Sheffield Wednesday fans are speaking highly of the player highlights what a good impression he left at the club.

Whilst Hector goes on to play for Fulham in the Premier League next season, Wednesday will be in a dogfight in the Championship as they begin with a 12-point deduction.

Here is what these Owls fans said about Hector following the play-off final:
