The news surrounding the future of Jacob Murphy seems to change each week, but the latest update seems to suggest that Sheffield Wednesday have a better chance of bringing the winger back to Hillsborough.

Murphy was with the Owls on loan last season and he played 39 times for them in the Championship, scoring nine goals and supplying six assists, per Transfermarkt.

Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce has been speaking about the future of his player, via Dom Howson, and Bruce said, 'We have to make big decisions on the two young ones. Jacob Murphy and Dan Barlaser.

'They have both done OK. I have to make a decision, are they going to get game-time? And if they aren't then we will have to let them out again. They have done very well.'

This seems like the possibility of another loan move could be on the cards, and Garry Monk would surely feel optimistic that the player would return to the Owls as he did very well at the club last season and he also knows the setup so it would feel easier to come back rather than settle somewhere new.

Here is what fans said following the news, with many hopeful that he returns given his 15 goal involvements last term.

Do everything we can, I beg
