Many Sheffield Wednesday fans are reacting to the latest news which has revealed the Owls’ plans for the upcoming transfer window.
Dom Howson tweeted out what owner Dejphon Chansiri had to say about their plans in January: “It’s more difficult to bring players in January. We have a list of players that we want to bring in. We already talk to some players. We send some offers to them.”
The club has only scored 14 goals in 22 Championship games (SofaScore) – this is the joint-fewest and emphasises that the priority for Wednesday should be bringing in a new forward. With the situation at the club currently, it might be very hard for the Owls to acquire the players that they need to stay in the Championship.
It will be interesting to see how Chansiri goes about the business over January with no permanent manager at the helm to guide him. This raises questions as to whether the new manager will even want whichever players the owner brings in.
The club are still in the relegation zone, so any new additions need to be one that benefits the starting eleven immediately.
Here is what Sheffield Wednesday fans said following the news:
“What a shocking way to run a club. We needed players in as soon as the window opened. With no manager that won’t happen.”
“It’s the summer recruitment that’s been abysmal. It IS a ridiculously unbalanced squad and to play attacking football, the manager needs the tools.”
“So we’re buying players that a new manager then has to work with, not keen on this approach at all.”
“Might be difficult because of the clown running the circus! What decent payer in there right mind would want to sign for us?”
“From what he’s said it sounds like we are just browsing scrapheap managers again. Shows a complete lack of ambition. Yeah I accept the odd diamond is out of work because he’s waiting for the right oppnty. But SWFC in its present state isn’t what these blokes are waiting for.”
“Mmm. interesting what manager said we wanted these new players”
In other news, fans were discussing midfielder Izzy Brown. Have a read why here!
