Sheffield Wednesday: Fans not keen on transfer battle with Rangers for Josh Windass

Sheffield Wednesday may face a transfer battle if they are to land the permanent signature of Josh Windass this summer.
Indeed, according to Football Insider, the Owls are keen on signing the attacking midfielder ahead of the 20/21 campaign. However, they face major competition from Glasgow Rangers and Middlesbrough, who are both also eyeing up the 26-year-old.
Windass, who left Ibrox to join Wigan Athletic in 2018, recently spent time on loan at Hillsborough where he did relatively well, racking up three goals in nine Championship appearances for Garry Monk’s team (Transfermarkt).
The Latics are likely to be forced to sell the Hull-born ace, who is valued at £1.44m, after entering administration prior to the conclusion of the 2019/20 season and ultimately suffering relegation to League One.
Upon hearing the news that Wednesday could have a fight on their hands to sign Windass, Twitter account @VitalWednesday asked Owls fans if the club should enter a bidding war to secure his signature.
It seems though that the former Accrington man didn’t do enough during his loan spell at Hillsborough for the fans to encourage the club into a transfer battle for his services. Indeed, it could mean that his transfer fee increases and supporters may have the club’s EFL charge regarding their finances in mind and therefore do not want them to overspend.
Here is what some had to say…
No there enough others out there. If we did this bid war we would waste the transfer season in him. Move in who’s next 👍

Didn’t do enough in my eyes to warrant entering a bidding war for him.

Nah, let them have him, he didnt do enough for me for us to bring him back
