Sheffield Wednesday: Owls have a bid accepted for Josh Windass

Josh Windass had a brief loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday last season and it seems like he left a good enough impression as the Owls are looking to make a permanent move for the attacker.
According to Alex Miller, Wednesday have had a bid for Windass accepted by Wigan Athletic, who are needing to sell as they went into administration. Despite a fee being agreed the player still might not come to the club as the Owls face competition for his signature.
It is easy to see why Garry Monk would like to reunite with Windass due to the fact that in the nine appearances he made for the club, he scored three goals and managed 1.7 shots per game, via WhoScored.
The 26 year-old is naturally an attacking midfielder, but has made appearances in the past as a centre-forward or a second striker, and a player like this is definitely needed at Wednesday as they currently only have one striker in Jordan Rhodes. Atdhe Nuhiu was at the club but his contract expired and there has been no word of a new contract.
Here is what fans said following the news and whilst some would like him back, it seems others aren’t quite as keen perhaps given his Championship record overall isn’t great with just 12 goals from 63 appearances.
