# ‘Sign him up’, ‘News I want to hear’ – Man United fans on Twitter beg for Mourinho to make January signing

**The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping to catch their local-rivals in the second half of the season, despite their 11 point deficit after 18 fixtures.**

The Red Devils propping up the bar in the tavern have become frustrated by their side’s inability to keep pace with league-leaders Manchester City this season. Although none of the punters clad in red and white are ready to admit defeat just yet, they know that it would take a spectacular decline from City to allow them back into the title race.

However, the January transfer window could prove to be a turning point in the season if United are able to secure a number of quality acquisitions and City make a slip-up or two along the way.

And according to reports in *[The Sun](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/5193959/manchester-united-transfer-news-christian-pulisic-jose-mourinho-scouts/)*, Jose Mourinho is lining up a move for Borussia Dortmund’s American wonderkid Christian Pulisic – a player who is beginning to attract interest from plenty of Europe’s heavyweights.

At just 19-years-of-age, Pulisic is clearly destined for a massive future in European football.

The midfielder can play in a wide or central role across an attacking-midfield three, and he has already been capped 20 times by the United States national side, scoring 9 goals in the process.

Understandably, the fact that both Mhkitaryan and Kagawa struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford after moving from Dortmund has left a handful of United supporters feeling sceptical about a move for Pulisic.

However, plenty of Red Devils on Twitter have called for Mourinho to ignore the sceptics and bring Pulisic to Manchester before their European rivals make a decisive move for his signature.

Here’s what the United fans had to say in response to the links with Pulisic…

> This could actually be a legit thing since it also makes a lot of sense commercially for United top brass in the USA.
