# ‘Smash it mate!’ – West Ham fans react to determined player comments

**Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait for their new season to get going as the club aims to get back amongst the European spots.**

Last season, of course, did not go to plan but the fans will be hoping that the side has learned from the mistakes that were made in a bid to improve for 2017/18.

Certainly, many will want to see them threatening to qualify for Europe come the end of this campaign and so the hard work needs to begin now for the club.

For sure, the players are going to need to be ready and Declan Rice certainly seems ready to go for a place in the first team as per his Twitter account.

Indeed, fans have reacted to his latest tweet, too, and so here is the best of the reaction:

> can’t wait to get back to work tomorrow! Hungrier than ever [#COYI](https://twitter.com/hashtag/COYI?src=hash)
