  1. Not particularly good with the ball at his feet, it will be interesting to see if Coyle can improve this, and also the ball watching that has crept into his game of late. In his defence it must be said that whoever his partner he is he is always having to do the work of two men. Still very promising but not yet the finished article.

  2. Cahill is going forward 9 (and scoring goals) regularly. There’s no doubt this is putting pressure on the other defenders. He needs a spell of concentrating on the basics. I think he’ll be the real deal with some careful coching and clear instructions.

  3. Harsh comments guys. I think this article is bang-on. He rarely forays into the opponents half unless it’s a set play which should mean that his cover is automatic so I must disagree with the comment that he puts undue pressure on the other defenders. For me, he has to be one of the top 3 or 4 central defenders in the country.
