# Liverpool: Fans shocked by Alexander Sorloth transfer link

**Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino is a fantastic footballer, but goals aren’t his strong point despite him being a centre-forward.**

The Reds are top of the Premier League by a huge [25](https://www.skysports.com/premier-league-table) points – the [biggest such margin](https://www.premierleague.com/news/1561869) in the history of the top flight – but the Brazil international has contributed with just [eight](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/roberto-firmino/leistungsdaten/spieler/131789) goals, which is less than both wingers [Mohamed Salah](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-salah/leistungsdaten/spieler/148455) and [Sadio Mane](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sadio-mane/leistungsdaten/spieler/200512).

Timo Werner has been consistently linked with a move to Anfield (SPORT [via Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/player-close-signing-liverpool-competitors-award-transfer-situation/)), but it now seems the Anfield outfit are after another striker – [Alexander Sorloth](https://www.fanatik.com.tr/son-dakika-trabzonsporun-yildizi-alexander-sorloth-transfer-aciklamasi-yapti-2135546?_sgm_campaign=scn_b804932ce4222000&_sgm_source=2135546&_sgm_action=click). The Norwegian scored just a single goal at Crystal Palace, but has [25](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alexander-sorloth/leistungsdaten/spieler/238407) goals in 39 games for Trabzonspor in Turkey this term ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alexander-sorloth/profil/spieler/238407)).

The Merseyside club’s fans have been reacting to the news in numbers on social media platform Twitter, and it is fair to say they are a bit perplexed at being linked with the 24-year-old, perhaps because of his woeful record at Palace. You can see some of the best comments to surface below.

> Stay away from him. Fairly good. But will never fulfil the standards at LFC.\
> Erling Braut Haaland should certainly have been The target in January.
