Southampton: Reporter shares Saints stance on Kyle Walker-Peters exit

Southampton: Reporter shares Saints stance on Kyle Walker-Peters exit -Premier League News

Southampton will only sell Kyle Walker-Peters for a ‘sizeable fee’, reports talkSPORT’s Alex Crook.

The Lowdown: Trio chasing KWP

The right-back has been linked with a move away from St. Mary’s in recent weeks after reports have claimed that the Saints would be open to letting him leave should they receive a bid in the region of £40m.

Several Premier League clubs, including the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and predominantly Chelsea, have all been credited with an interest in the 25-year-old, with the latter even having discussed a move internally.

However, it sounds as if the south coast outfit aren’t worried about potentially losing their gem this summer.

The Latest: Southampton ‘relaxed’

Taking to Twitter, Crook shared Southampton’s stance on Walker-Peters’ transfer latest. He wrote:

“#SaintsFC relaxed about #CFC interest in Kyle Walker-Peters. Would take a very sizeable fee to prise him away.”

The Verdict: Semmens must stand firm

During his Tottenham pre-match press conference on Thursday, Ralph Hasenhuttl was quick to shut down any chance of a Walker-Peters exit this window, and it’s understandable that the boss and CEO Martin Semmens will want to do everything possible to keep hold of his highly-rated gem.

Since arriving at Southampton from their Saturday opponents two years ago, the England international has made 82 appearances for the club to date, showing just how reliant the Austrian is on him.

Walker-Peters, hailed a ‘top class’ player by sports journalist Josh Bunting, looks like he will be staying with the Saints, for now at least, and Hasenhuttl will be hoping that none of the big six meet his valuation before September 1.
