Southampton fans were delighted with the performance of Che Adams during Scotland’s match with England at Euro 2020 on Friday.
Adams, who was born in England, recently declared his allegiance to the Scottish national team. He has managed two goals in six caps but, surprisingly, he was not selected by Steve Clarke for the Tartan Army’s first match of the competition against the Czech Republic, which ended up in a 2-0 defeat.
Against England, though, Scotland managed to pick up a 0-0 draw, and Adams was a constant threat up top alongside Lyndon Dykes. He even had a couple of good opportunities and, although he couldn’t find the back of the net, it was still a display both the Saints man and his manager will have been happy with.
Was Adams the best player on the pitch?
Understandably, the Southampton fans were proud of what their forward had to offer, and they took to social media platform Twitter to share their praise during his promising display.
Let’s see what the fans had to say about Adams below
“Che was incredible and deserved all the praise he got”
“Hugely proud of Che. Absolutely fantastic.”
“Che should be proud of his performance tonight, best player on the pitch”
“Our boy did very well! Just a decent finisher away from being class act.”
“was terrific tonight! Even as an Englishman, I wouldn’t have been upset if he’d scored tonight. He is improving every year and i hope he can take this confidence into next season for Saints and bang in plenty!”
“great performance by ché and stu looked impressive when he came on”
