Southampton and manager Ralph Hasenhuttl have been casting their eyes on Inter striker Martin Satriano, according to the player's agent.

The Lowdown: Hasenhuttl backed...

The Saints and new owners Sport Republic heavily backed their manager in the transfer market, completing deals for an array of top talents including the likes of Gavin Bazunu and Romeo Lavia from Man City.

Looking to climb up the Premier League table, Southampton were also linked with ambitious moves for the likes of PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo, but to no avail.

Indeed, despite their plethora of activity, the south coast side could've added even more players to their roster in an alternate universe.

The Latest: Southampton linked with Satriano...

Now, according to Nick Maytum, the representative of Satriano, it appears Hasenhuttl and co have also held an interest in the striker now on loan at Empoli from Inter Milan.

While there interest was at the start of the summer window, Maytum believes Southampton will continue to follow the player if he continues his brilliant form.

He explained:

"I talked to Nice and Southampton before the start of the summer transfer market, because they had followed him and I believe they will continue to do so if he continues like this, but nothing concrete."

The Verdict: Keep a close eye...

Still just 21-years-old, the forward's potential could be one to keep an eye on, especially since he has already grabbed his first Serie A goal on a temporary Empoli spell.

The attacker has also been praised by ex-Inter teammate Matias Vecino, with the Lazio star calling him a 'beast' in training.

If Satriano can make his loan spell a success, there may be many more suitors coming in for the South American, including Southampton going by his agent's words.
