Hampshire Live have suggested that Southampton could make a last-gasp loan move for Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Saints could eye Zinchenko
Ralph Hasenhuttl has already admitted during this transfer window that he would like to bring in a new full-back (The Daily Echo), but he has so far been unable to add any new players to his squad.
Looking at who the Saints could target on the final day of the window, Hampshire Live believe Zinchenko could be on the club’s radar.
Fantastic short-term arrival
Zinchenko is a very versatile player – while he generally plays at left-back for Pep Guardiola’s side (Transfermarkt), he is used in central midfield for his national team Ukraine. Aged 24 and with two Premier League titles to his name, he has plenty of top-level experience already under his belt.
Would you like to sign Zinchenko?
He is valued at £18m (Transfermarkt) and has three years left on his contract at the Etihad Stadium, so any deal would surely have to be a loan. However, that could be exactly what Hasenhuttl needs between now and the end of the campaign.
