According to Football Insider, Southampton are interested in signing Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham.
Ntcham on Saints radar
The Saints are believed to be one of two clubs eyeing the 24-year-old, along with fellow Premier League rivals West Bromwich Albion.
The report adds that the Saints hold a key advantage in the race to sign him – they have dealt with the current Scottish champions on a regular basis and it could therefore be an easy deal between the two.
Since signing for Celtic in 2017, Ntcham has made 145 appearances in all competitions, scoring 24 goals and providing 13 assists. Previously compared to Yaya Toure and called “excellent” by former Celtic player John Collins, the midfielder is said to be valued at £12m by the Bhoys.
Southampton have dealt with the Scottish side on a regular basis in recent years. Virgil van Dijk and Victor Wanyama both swapped Scotland for St. Mary’s Stadium, while Mohamed Elyounoussi and Fraser Forster have spent time on loan north of the border. Clearly, the two clubs have a good relationship, which means that they would arguably be more willing to deal with Saints than anyone else.
Would you like to sign Olivier Ntcham?
As such, if Ralph Hasenhuttl really does want to take Ntcham to the south coast, he surely has a very good chance of doing so.
In other news, Southampton are looking to sign this teenage defender.
