According to Sky Sports, Southampton are said to be eyeing a January loan move for Brandon Williams.
Williams on the radar
As the Saints fly high in the Premier League – they are currently fourth in the table – they are now looking at the January transfer window to see where they can strengthen.
Now, it is being said that they are looking at left-back Williams, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set to sanction a loan move due to his lack of playing time at Old Trafford.
So far, the £9.9m-rated (Transfermarkt) 20-year-old has made just six appearances in all competitions, which equals a grant total of 426 minutes. The signing of Alex Telles from Porto means that Solskjaer has him and Luke Shaw also available in the left-back position – a third option is not really necessary.
Even at his young age, Williams has played Champions League football, and Gary Neville showered him in praise earlier this year, saying he would “eat his opponent’s nose to win”. That shows the desire and work-rate of the youngster, and that is something that Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl would very much appreciate.
Would you like to sign Brandon Williams?
As Southampton go in search of a European spot this campaign, Williams could be a very astute signing for the season’s run-in.
In other news, Southampton fans laud this man against Sheffield United.
