# Southampton: Fans react to Jannik Vestergaard transfer rumours

**Many Southampton fans want Jannik Vestergaard to leave the club after a number of sides were said to be interested in signing him.**

In recent days, rumours have started to circle around the future of the Denmark international. According to [Tuttomercatoweb](https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/tmw-roma-su-vestergaard-sfida-al-tottenham-atteso-incontro-con-tiago-pinto-1524727), [Champions-League chasing](https://www.skysports.com/serie-a-table) Serie A duo AS Roma and Juventus, along with Tottenham, are all interested in the 28-year-old, with Spurs set to enter talks for him next week.

Vestergaard has at times [earned praise](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/southampton-fc-news/southampton-saints-jannik-vestergaard-sheffield-united/) as well as [strong criticism](https://thisisfutbol.com/2020/02/twitter/southampton-some-saints-fans-slam-jannik-vestergaard/) from various Saints supporters for his performances this season, but he has actually been a key member of a very poor defence. Only West Bromwich Albion have conceded more than Southampton’s 58 goals in the Premier League ([Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/premier-league-table)), and the south coast outfit are not yet safe from relegation as we approach the end of the season.

The news was shared on Twitter by [@SaintsfcViews](https://twitter.com/SaintsfcViews/status/1385622162602663941), and it attracted plenty of attention from Southampton fans. These Saints took to the social media platform to share their thoughts, with one believing that the Dane is frankly “awful”.
