# Southampton: Fans react to Mario Lemina comments

**Southampton fans have been reacting to comments from Mario Lemina, who said he was too much of an individualist earlier in his career.**

Lemina made the move to the St. Mary’s Stadium from Juventus, meaning he has a certain amount of pedigree. However, it never really worked for him on the south-coast. He managed just 52 appearances for the club ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mario-lemina/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/170934)) and, via loan spells at Galatasaray and Fulham, he finally departed permanently this summer.

His attitude was brought into question with the Saints ([via This is Futbol](https://thisisfutbol.com/2020/01/twitter/southampton-some-saints-fans-want-lemina-out/)), sometimes making him an unpopular player amongst the club’s supporters. However, [in an interview with the Athletic](https://theathletic.com/2870236/2021/10/11/mario-lemina-at-southampton-i-was-more-focused-on-myself-than-i-was-on-the-team), he has at least admitted his previous behaviour was wrong, and he should have been more worried about the team rather than just himself.

The comments [were shared on Twitter by @SaintsExtra](https://twitter.com/SaintsExtra/status/1447826803326963720), and it attracted plenty of attention from the supporters. They took to the social media platform to share their thoughts.
